HP Investments selected RMD Group to redevelop the historic four story, corner property in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. We envisioned a multi-concept approach that would maximize the location and appeal to locals and visitors alike.
Illuminating the way
RMD Group assessed the Lumi and Huntress were created simultaneously and always seen as complementary concepts that would share the great location, operate as separate businesses with separate P&Ls, and support each other by successfully growing as unique brands.
The Lumi Sushi concept was inspired by the light of our open-to-the-stars setting, San Diego’s cityscape, vibrant color palette, and visually brilliant food and beverage program.
Set to thrive
Lumi has grown to be an energetic and upscale rooftop experience serving innovative Japanese fare and sushi accompanied by handcrafted libations in a vividly unique atmosphere.
Michelin-starred chef Akira Back brings his stellar reputation for cutting edge cuisine and exquisite taste to Lumi, as well as global name recognition. Chef Back is on the forefront of innovation and artistry, and he continues to push the Lumi concept forward in exciting ways.
