A showbiz couple in Hawaii dreamed of staging their own variety show. RMD Group took the lead and gave their vision structure and profitability.
A former Cirque du Soleil director wanted to produce his own variety show with his wife, a skilled acrobat, as one of the stars. They had all the talent they needed for the stage, but lacked any experience operating a business. On a referral, RMD Group was called in to fill the vital gaps and make their dream a reality.
“CabaRAE was our first project that involved circus performers! It was a one-of-a-kind business with one-of-a-kind challenges. One was selling tickets to customers in Honolulu. We became experts in how to be the new kid on a territorial block. We learned a ton.”

The show must go on
With the lease secured at a prominent hotel in Hawaii, RMD Group assessed their biggest needs: They would need investment capital. They required a remodel to accommodate specific demands of the show. And once open, they would need an operation plan that maximized potential profits for sustainability, from sources such as Food and Beverage and corporate events.
RMD Group helped secure the necessary capital and sourced a designer to lead the renovation of the 10,000-square-foot showroom. RMD Group got to work on the entire operational program from the ground up, from accounting and menus to staffing and training.
Raising the curtain
All the pieces came together and the show began its run at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was named “Best New Show” in Honolulu.
The cabaret/variety show was the first venture of its kind for RMD Group. But everyone brought their expertise to their role and came together to help the client realize their dream.
