Iconic Pearl Hotel selects RMD Group to consult on the hotel’s redevelopment and position them for future success
Iconic in its own right, The Pearl Hotel is a hidden treasure in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. Known for its pool facing restaurant and bar Charles + Dinorah, the stylish mid-century boutique hotel hosts some of San Diego’s longest standing community promotions. On Wednesdays you can book a reservation for Dive-In Theater, a movie night where you can nestle up with a blanket pool side, enjoy delicious food and drink, and watch some of the greatest movie classics of all time. If the night gets away from you and one glass of wine becomes a bottle, you can even grab a room for a discounted Dive-In Theater night rate.
Although a popular hospitality spot, with the passing of time comes a demand for property updates and improvements. The Point Loma neighborhood is especially competitive with the development of new hotels on the busy local highway Rosecrans Street, and the exceptionally fast growth of Liberty Station a few blocks away. Under new hotel ownership by Casetta, a brand and management hospitality group, The Pearl Hotel will be undergoing a redevelopment to reestablish the property as San Diego’s continued hidden gem.
With this redevelopment plan, the group knew a qualified hospitality consultant would need to be hired to oversee the restaurant, bar, future café, and banquet operations. One that not only had experience operating bars and restaurant venues inside hotels, but also in developing bar and restaurant venues. In the fall of 2018, RMD Consulting was selected to assist with two important redevelopment initiatives for The Pearl Hotel:
– Oversee and consult on the redevelopment of the property, most specifically the restaurant, bar, and future café (which would also flex as a banquet space and increase restaurant capacity)
